Template — replace with your finalised terms after legal review. This sample is provided for development convenience only and is not legal advice.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "the user") and [COMPANY NAME] Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [COMPANY NUMBER]) with its registered office at [REGISTERED ADDRESS], United Kingdom ("SuperShorts", "we", "our" or "us").
By accessing or using our website, mobile applications and related services (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use the Service.
2. The Service
The Service provides on-demand access to short-form, episodic video content (the "Content") for personal, non-commercial use, available via a subscription. The Content available through the Service may change from time to time without notice.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
4. Account registration and email verification
To purchase a subscription, you must provide a valid email address and verify it via a one-time code we send to that address. You are responsible for keeping your email address current and for any activity that occurs through your access. You must notify us promptly at support@example.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
5. Subscriptions, billing and auto-renewal
Subscriptions are sold on a recurring basis at the price and for the term shown at the point of sale. Unless otherwise stated, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for that plan, charged to your payment method.
All payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe Payments Europe, Limited. We do not store your full payment card details on our own servers.
You authorise us (and Stripe) to charge your selected payment method for the subscription you purchase, including any applicable taxes, until you cancel.
6. Cancellation and refund policy
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the "Manage subscription" option in your account, which opens our Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will continue to have access until then and will not be billed again.
Right to cancel (consumer rights): Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you ordinarily have a 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases. By starting to stream Content immediately, you expressly request the supply of digital content before the cooling-off period expires and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel under those Regulations.
Outside the statutory cooling-off period, refunds are at our discretion. We aim to deal with refund requests fairly and quickly — please contact support@example.com.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, redistribute, sell, broadcast or publicly perform any Content;
- circumvent, disable or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Service or features that prevent or restrict use or copying of any Content;
- attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained in the Service;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms.
8. Intellectual property
All Content available through the Service, together with the Service itself (including software, design, logos and trademarks), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view the Content for personal, non-commercial use only, for the duration of your active subscription.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers for payments (Stripe), video delivery (Mux), email (Resend), hosting (Vercel) and analytics (Meta and others). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' own terms.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all representations, warranties and conditions (express or implied) relating to the Service, including any warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service.
11. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Subject to the above, our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the subscription in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. We may also discontinue the Service in whole or in part at any time, in which case we will refund any unused portion of a pre-paid subscription on a pro-rata basis.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable notice (for example, by email) before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their own jurisdiction.
